Changes coming in 2016 to the Bequia Mission: Read about it in the Winter 2015 newsletter link here!

Welcome to the Bequia Mission Web Site!

Both the Bequia Mission and the U.S. Friends of the Bequia Mission are entirely voluntary, non-profit, and non-denominational charities that are registered in Canada and the U.S., respectively. As such, donations to both organizations are tax-deductible. Along with the Bequia Mission Local Committee (BMLC), which consists of Bequia educators, medical practitioners, local business people, and concerned citizens, we are dedicated to providing social, educational and medical assistance to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), which is a small island nation in the eastern Caribbean. At only seven square miles, tiny Bequia (pronounced "Beck-way") is the largest of the Grenadines island chain.

Founded in 1970, under the leadership of the Reverend Ron Armstrong and his wife June, the Bequia Mission was incorporated as a registered Canadian charitable organization in 1981. The American Friends of the Bequia Mission was incorporated as a U.S. Registered Trust in 2008. Today, a dedicated group of volunteers continues the long-standing humanitarian work of the Mission with the help of donors from Canada, the U.S. and around the world, along with our dedicated Bequia Mission Local Committee members, who are truly the heart and hands of the Mission in SVG.
